The Australian Dietary Guidelines
The Dietary Guidelines for Australian Adults:
- Eat lots of vegetables, legumes and fruits
- Eat lots of cereals, breads, rice, pasta and noodles (wholegrain)
- Also; lean meat, fish, poultry, and/or alternatives such as eggs, legumes or nuts.
- Include milk, yoghurts and cheeses and/or alternatives. Low-fat varieties should be chosen where possible.
- Drink plenty of water
- Saturated fat and moderate total fat intake.
- Foods low in salt.
- Alcohol intake if you choose to drink.
- Consume only moderate amounts of sugars, and foods and drinks containing added sugars.
